Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a wide array of personalities, and a exciting storyline including divine entities, evil spirits, and dark forces increasing in power within the urban setting.
Warning: Revealing details for the third episode of the new season lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
Episode 3 ended with a major cliffhanger and presented the initial group of adventurers who will separate from the main group to embark on their own adventure, apart from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team consists of the determined fighter (portrayed by the voice actor), the agile character (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
Given 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that maintaining everyone at a single group would be impossible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Introduction, weaving together the individual narratives before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Schemers, and Seekers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
According to the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for players who are drawn to a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are rare.
Initially, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might appear mismatched, but the developments of the third episode show why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the party has a clear idea where to head next after a brutal opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose death started the campaign’s events—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, invading Thjazi’s hideout, striking the rogue, and stealing all the powerful objects to dispose of.
Casimir then cleared his debts and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each character has a specific drive to depart the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and best friend, wants retribution.
- The adventurer knows Timmony and advises that it is a dangerous place.
- The strong character and The healer, having defied his house’s orders to kill the fighter and instead saved him, have no other options.
- Yet, their position as important members in the powerful family could help the party access places they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The fighter vowed a eternal obligation to Wicander for his deliverance and will now follow him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are sought by the rulers that govern the city for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally too risky:
- The rogue and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and Wicander defied the powerful family and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the family.
This leaves them little choice but to journey toward the remote area in pursuit of Casimir.
What’s Next?
From the latest episode’s follow-up content, we find out that the combat party will not appear the following episode, leaving the remaining eight cast members to round up the Questers and Strategists parties.
Fans can expect learning which players will be where in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, released on the upcoming Thursday.
